Small World at Convoy of Hope

Saturday’s Convoy of Hope at the Baxter County Fairgrounds went off with a bang.  The event was to start off at  10 a.m. and lasting to around 3 p.m. Due to the overwhelming number of families that turned out and were waiting in line to enter, the gates were opened about an hour and a half earlier than scheduled.  
   Over 600 area volunteers were scheduled to take part in the Convoy of Hope of the Ozarks provided free groceries, food, haircuts and school supplies along with a health fair, kid’s zone and entertainment.
    We were on hand giving out our famous color changing pencils (Mrs. Tammy’s favorite), key rings, candy, information and applications for our ABC programs and our school age care.  Mrs. Nickie said that this event was previously held in year past in the old Wal-Mart parking lot and there weren’t nearly as many services provide or families in need of help.

It was great to see some old faces of previous students,  some now coming up and inquiring about our programs for their own children.
